The Ginger One

OK. we are off again and this time it's a ginger beer. Basic kit again but added a few things myself to spice it up and see what happens.

Boiled up 4 litres of hot water with about 10 cloves, 3tsp chilli flakes and 2tsp allspice.

Added 1kg sugar (dissolved in hot water).

All added to Brigalow beer kit. 

Started out at 1044@20oC on 23 April


One for the ladies and the men with good taste. Nice kick that's just on the female side of palatable. Good ginger kick that complements the chilli kick. Kylie wants another batch. (Colour is slightly paler than the picture shows.)

  3. the hot water is just the normal hot water you'd add to the malt anyway, right? You just spice it up a bit first?
